Types Of Acne
Although the basic process that causes acne is similar, there are a number of variants that affect different people:
- Chloracne-an unusual variant caused by some chemicals, the most famous of which is dioxin, a by-product of burning plastics.
- Cosmetic acne - caused by the excessive use of face powders which can block pores.
- Physical acne - caused by continual pressure on the skin, causing the pores to be closed for long periods. Seen on the backs of wheelchair users and under the chins of violin players.
- Drug-induced acne - sometimes caused by taking steroids or by applying steroid creams to the skin
- Acne excoriee - caused by squeezing spots. Often found in young women.
As you can see, there are a number of ways you might help to reduce your acne. Don’t squeeze, avoid excessive make-up, stay away from steroids, avoid continual pressure on your skin. There are plenty of other things you can do, discussed on other pages of ZitBlitz.com
